About Tindra Ädel

My name is Tindra Ädel, and I am a Swedish artist born in 2005. Creativity has always been a natural part of my life, as I grew up in an artistic and imaginative family. While I have always loved drawing, I discovered my true passion for painting in 2023. Since then it has become an essential part of who I am.

Through my art, I bring to life visions of an unreal and luxurious world. I aim to create motifs that feel entirely original. Scenes that have neither been photographed nor painted before. For me, uniqueness is everything.

I have never been interested in following in other artists’ footsteps. Instead, I have always chosen to walk my own path, guided by my intuition and imagination. Every piece I create comes from within, shaped by my own thoughts and ideas.

I believe that when artists rely too heavily on inspiration from others, they risk losing their own voice and identity. My goal is to stay true to myself and to create art that reflects something genuine and one of a kind

Originality and the process behind my paintings

In the beginning of my journey in 2023, I created paintings based on photographic references. I always made sure to ask the photographers for permission to reinterpret their work and to sell the paintings as posters. This phase taught me a lot about technique and composition. However, over time I felt a growing need to create something that was entirely my own.

Since 2024, I have shifted my process completely. Instead of relying on references, I now start with my own ideas, sketching directly from my imagination before bringing them to life on canvas. This transition marked a turning point in my artistic identity.

One of my first popular collections created entirely from my own vision was the Alpine Collection In 2024. I wanted to make something retro and ski-themed, but with a twist that would make it stand out.

The idea came to me of a woman sitting in a ski lift, holding a cocktail. It felt luxurious and slightly unreal, exactly the balance I was looking for. Before creating it, I researched to see if anything similar already existed, but I couldn’t find anything. That confirmed I was onto something original.

The first piece, Alpine Espresso, became a success. I continued developing the concept with Alpine Beer and Alpine Spritz, and together they formed a collection that resonated strongly with people.

Wanting to push the concept further, I explored new ideas within the same alpine theme. I was searching for something bold and something slightly provocative yet still aesthetically pleasing. That’s when I created the concept of a topless woman holding a ski horizontally across her chest, with a strong retro influence. Once again, I carefully researched the idea beforehand and found no similar works, which reinforced my commitment to originality.

I chose a red ski with vintage bindings to enhance the retro feeling. The piece became a major success and has since been sold across Sweden and throughout Europe.

That experience meant a lot to me. It proved that creating something entirely from my own imagination did connect with others.

Since then, I have continued to expand the alpine theme while also including sports-inspired works such as hockey, always with my own unique perspective.

At the same time, I have noticed that since 2024, more artists have started creating work that closely resembles my concepts and visual style. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this. While it can be seen as a sign that my work inspires others, it also feels challenging.

Because I put so much emphasis on originality, it feels strange to see others replicate my ideas and build on them commercially. For me, art has always been about creating something personal, not following trends but shaping them.
